A short history of Joyce Silver and Merit Carpets, Inc.

Merit Carpets is a family business which was started after World War II by Joyce Silver's father, Leo Silver, called Ace Hardwood Flooring Co.

Joyce is currently certified by NY Economic Development as a WBE # 58210. We are CCR Certified and Hub Zone Certified. Member of LIBI for over 50 years, We're members of Manhatten Association of Builders and Owners/ Family Business Council of NY/ Scandinavian -American Building Managers Guild

Our primary business is Re-Furbishment, We work for Building Managers and owners and replace carpeting and flooring on demand. WE purchase , stock, and install flooring (carpets and padding) . Our clients schedule is our schedule. With less then 8 hours notice , we'll send a flooring mechanic to a jobsite. We work on a production schedule.according to our client's needs.

Merit employs it's own dedicated labor force. We're able to provide quality labor to complete the clients jobs on time according to their time schedule. Within a specified budget.

We install all flooring products, vinyl tile, ceramic tile, rubber floor treads/Linoleum/matting, residential and commercial carpets, laminate and hardwood floors, etc. We work with project managers, developers,& building managers to specify and install products suitable to the job and within the client's budget.
